The free trial
A new shul gets 14 days free, for 1 screen, with no card. The 14 days start when the first TV is connected, so there's no rush to set up. Settings, Billing says how many days are left. The trial is one per account: a second shul, or a shul made again after deleting one, starts without one.
The price
| Monthly | Yearly | |
|---|---|---|
| The first screen | $35 a month | $380 a year |
| Each screen after it | $22 a month | $240 a year |
So 2 screens are $57 a month, and 3 are $79. Yearly is about 10% less than paying monthly. Every screen gets every board, item and look. For a building with a lot of screens, contact us.
Subscribe
Owners go to Settings, Billing, choose how many Screens and How the shul pays, then Subscribe. Payment is by card, through Stripe; card details go to Stripe and never reach Shulboard.
Manage billing opens Stripe's page for the card, the invoices and cancelling.
Adding a screen
Once every screen the shul pays for is in use, an owner's Add screen asks "Add a screen to the plan?", with what it costs and what's charged today, for the rest of the period. Then name the screen and connect its TV, as usual.
Change the number of screens, on Billing, does the same for any number. More screens are charged straight away for the rest of the period; fewer start at the next payment. It can't go below the screens the shul has, so delete a screen first to pay for fewer. Under More options, Pay yearly (or Pay monthly) switches how the shul pays, settled straight away.
When the trial ends
If nobody subscribes, nothing is charged. The shul is paused: "Shulboard is paused", every page goes to Billing, and nothing new reaches the screens. Its owners get an email that day and each day after, and the screens turn off three days later. Subscribe and everything comes back as it was.
A failed payment
If a payment doesn't go through, everything keeps working for three days. Owners see "The last payment didn't go through. Pay it by …", with Update card and pay, and get an email each day. Stripe tries the card again meanwhile. If it still isn't paid after three days, the shul is paused as above, and the screens turn off three days after that. Paying at any point brings everything back straight away.
Cancelling
Cancel from Manage billing. The subscription runs to the end of the period already paid for, then the shul is paused.
Deleting the shul
An owner deletes the shul from Settings, Shul, Delete this shul, by typing its name. Its subscription is cancelled straight away: nothing more is charged, and time already paid for isn't refunded. Then the shul and everything in it, its boards, photos, names and screens, is deleted, straight away and for good.
