Terms of service

Last updated November 1, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Shulboard ("we", "us") for using shulboard.app and its screen pages ("the service"). By making an account, you agree to them. If you use Shulboard for a shul, you agree to them for the shul too, and confirm you may.

The service

Shulboard lets a shul make digital boards and show them on its screens: zmanim, davening times, notices, events, photos, Kiddush sponsors, yahrzeits and the rest. We may add to it, change it and improve it. If we remove something a shul relies on, we'll say so first.

Accounts

  • Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • An account is for one person. A shul can invite as many people as it likes, as owners or editors.
  • You need to be old enough to agree to these terms where you live.

The free trial

A new shul can use Shulboard free for 14 days, without a card. The trial is one per account. When it ends, nothing is charged: editing pauses until someone subscribes, and the shul's screens turn off three days later.

Paying

  • Plans are priced by how many screens a shul has, monthly or yearly, at the prices on our pricing page when you subscribe. Payment is by card, through Stripe, in advance for each period, and renews by itself until it's cancelled.
  • If a payment doesn't go through, the shul has three days to pay it. After that the shul is paused, as at the end of the trial, until it's paid.
  • Changing plan settles the difference straight away: a bigger plan is charged for the rest of the period, and a smaller one is credited against the next payments.
  • If we change our prices, we'll tell the shul's owners at least 30 days before a renewal at the new price.
  • Prices don't include any sales tax that may apply.

Cancelling and refunds

  • Cancel any time from Shul settings, Billing, Manage billing. The subscription runs to the end of the period already paid for, and isn't renewed.
  • Deleting the shul cancels its subscription straight away.
  • We don't refund time already paid for, except where the law requires it.

Your content

What a shul puts into Shulboard (its words, photos, flyers, names and everything else) stays the shul's. You give us permission to store it, copy it and show it, only so we can run the service for you: on your boards, on your screens and in your account. You can delete it at any time; see the privacy policy.

You're responsible for what you put on a board. Only upload what you have the right to use, and don't publish anything about a person that they wouldn't want shown, other than what a shul ordinarily shows (a yahrzeit, a simcha, a sponsorship).

Using it fairly

Don't use Shulboard to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else do so;
  • show anything hateful, harassing, obscene or misleading, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
  • try to get into another shul's information or account, or around any limit on the service;
  • disrupt the service, overload it, or probe it for weaknesses without our permission;
  • resell the service, or copy it.

We may suspend or close an account, or a shul, that breaks these rules. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

AI apps

You can connect an AI app, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your shul's Shulboard (Connect an AI, in Shulboard's menu). It acts for you: what it adds, changes or deletes is done as if you did it in Shulboard, with your role in the shul, and you're responsible for it as you are for your own changes. An AI app can make mistakes, so check what it tells you before you say yes to a change, and before a board goes on the screens. The app itself is provided by its own company, under its own terms. You can disconnect it any time; see the privacy policy for what's kept.

Availability

We work to keep Shulboard running and your screens showing, and screens keep their board through a lost connection. But we can't promise the service will never be interrupted, and we may need to pause it now and then to keep it working. Zmanim come from the source the shul chooses: Chabad.org's published times, shown as published, or Hebcal's, worked out for the shul's address. If a time matters for a halachic question, check it with your rav.

Our liability

Shulboard is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or lost data, and our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is limited to what the shul paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that can't be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop using Shulboard any time, and delete your account or the shul. If we ever stop running Shulboard, we'll tell owners at least 30 days ahead, so they can download their photos.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and email the shuls' owners before the change takes effect. Using Shulboard after that means accepting the new terms.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, in the United States, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of New York, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
