A screen's boards
Open a screen from Screens. Choose the board it shows; the TV switches a few seconds later. Once a screen has two or more boards, it lists them under Boards, each with When it shows and what it does On the TV.
When it shows
For each board, choose When it shows:
- All the time
- Shabbos and Yom Tov: from candle lighting until Shabbos or Yom Tov ends.
- Jewish calendar days: Rosh Chodesh, Chanukah, Purim, Chol Hamoed, Fast days, Sefiras HaOmer, Elul.
- A Hebrew date every year, Every week, or One time.
Part of the day: all of it, only the evening, only the daytime, or set hours, so a board can show only on Shabbos morning, or only on Chanukah nights.
While it's on
- Take turns with the other boards: each shows for its Shows for time, then the next.
- Show only this board: it takes over the screen while it's on. The list says so plainly, like "Shows all the time, except while Shabbos board takes over."
If nothing is set to show at a moment, the first board shows. A screen never goes blank for want of a schedule.
Dark over Shabbos and Yom Tov, or overnight
To have a screen off over Shabbos and Yom Tov, tick Turn off for Shabbos and Yom Tov on its page. It goes dark at candle lighting and comes back on by itself after Shabbos or Yom Tov ends, with the right board. Leave the TV on: it keeps checking in while it's dark, and Screens says "Dark for Shabbos until 7:42 PM".
To save power at night, tick Turn off overnight and choose From and Until, like 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The screen goes dark every night and comes back on by itself in the morning; Screens says "Dark overnight until 6:00 AM".
The screen itself
On the screen's page: its name and where it is, Disconnect TV, Make a new link, and Delete screen. Only an owner can add a screen, connect or disconnect its TV, make a new link or delete it; an editor's page names the shul's owners to ask. See Connect a TV. How many screens a shul can have depends on how many it pays for; see Prices and billing.
