Yahrzeits

Keep the shul's names by the Hebrew date of passing, and show them on a yahrzeit board.

Add a name

Go to Yahrzeits and press Add a name. Give the English name, the Hebrew name and the father's Hebrew name (the board writes "יעקב בן משה ז״ל"), and the Date of passing: as a Regular date or a Hebrew date. If the passing was after sunset, tick After sunset: the yahrzeit is then the next Hebrew day.

  • First yahrzeit on the burial date, for the custom of keeping the first yahrzeit by the date of burial.
  • Dedicated by: who dedicated the plaque, shown under the name if the board shows it.
  • Show on yahrzeit boards: untick to keep a name on the list but off the screens.

Shulboard works out each yahrzeit every year from the Hebrew date, including Adar in a leap year and the months that are 29 days some years and 30 in others.
