Kiddush days and sponsors

Set out the year's Kiddush days once, add sponsors as they come in, and show them on a Kiddush board.

Set up the year

Go to Calendars and open Kiddush sponsorships. For a year that isn't set up yet, press Set up 5788's Kiddush days (whichever year it is) and choose Which days: Every Shabbos, Yom Tov days, Yom Tov nights. Then Put these days on the calendar: every one is set out, with its parsha or Yom Tov, ready for a sponsor, the weeks already past included, so a board showing the year has all of it. Next year's tab says so when it's time: "Next year, 5788: set it up". Seudah shlishis sponsorships work the same way.

Add a sponsor

Open a day and press Add sponsor: the Sponsor ("The Cohen family") and what it's In honor of. Add another sponsor for a day with more than one. Change one with Change.

A day with no sponsor reads Sponsorship available. Remove day takes a day off the calendar, so it reads "No Kiddush"; Add back returns it. Every change can be undone.

The Kiddush sponsorships calendar can also be kept in a Google calendar instead; see Calendars.

On a board

  • Kiddush board, added to any board from Add to board: this Shabbos's sponsors (This week only), in the board's look, with Over the names ("Generously sponsored by"). Its Show also offers the coming weeks, or the whole year's sponsors as plaques.
  • A whole-screen Kiddush board: from Boards, New board, Kiddush board, the whole year's sponsors as plaques, with this week in the middle.

The Kiddush sponsor item isn't offered for new boards any more: the Kiddush board, showing this week only, does its job. A board that has one keeps it, and its panel has Show the Kiddush board here.

The Kiddush board has its own Look, with Change look: Donor wall, Gilded, Cast brass, Nero and silver, Midnight arch, Oxblood and ivory, Register and Limestone arch. Customise changes the Plaques, Colours, Finish (Painted, Silver, Gold, Bronze), Wall and Fonts, and Arched on or off. On a board with a look, it can follow the board's look instead.

The date line can show Shabbos, the English date and the Hebrew date, in English or Hebrew letters.
