Make a board
Go to Boards and press New board. Give it a Name and a Shape (Landscape or Portrait), then choose What's it for?:
- Shul board: zmanim and davening, flyers, photos, notices and this week's Kiddush. Next you choose a template.
- Kiddush board: the year's Kiddush sponsors, on the whole screen. See Kiddush days and sponsors.
- Yahrzeit board: the shul's yahrzeits, on the whole screen. See Yahrzeits.
For a shul board, Choose a template from three groups: Times first (Three columns, Luach page, Classic, Hebrew luach, Zmanim and clock), Flyers and photos first (Photo wall, Gallery, Flyer and collage, Tiles, Up next, Big collage, Flyer first) and Young and playful (Zine, Stories). Hebrew luach starts all in Hebrew, right to left. Seven of the templates come in portrait. Then Choose a look and press Make the board. Build my own starts an empty board instead.
The editor
The board sits in the middle. Add to board is on the left, with Items on this board under it. The item you select opens on the right, with its Content, Style and Size.
- Select an item by clicking it; Shift-click to add more. Drag across empty board to select several.
- Move by dragging. Items line up with each other and with the middle of the board as you go; hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) to place freely.
- Resize with the handles. Hold Shift to keep its shape.
- Nudge with the arrow keys, 1 at a time, or 10 with Shift.
- Undo with Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z), and redo with Ctrl+Shift+Z. Ctrl+D duplicates, Delete removes.
- Right-click an item for the rest: bring forward or send back, group, hide, line several up or space them evenly.
New items land in free space. Everything saves as you go.
Put it on screens
Changes to a board reach the TVs when you press Update screens (the first time, Put on screens). Until then the status line says "Changes not on screens yet", so you can work on a board without a half-finished version appearing in the lobby. Once pressed, it says where the board is: "On 1 screen: Main lobby".
A board that isn't on any screen yet says so, with Choose a screen.
On a phone
A board opens in Quick edit on a phone: its words in a list, labelled by item, in the order they sit on the board, with the shul's notices and minyanim. Fix the typo and press Update screens. (Notices and minyanim are saved as you type, and reach the screens on their own.) To move things around or change the look, open the board on a computer.
Delete a board
Delete it from Boards. It waits 30 days in Recently deleted. A board a screen is showing can't be deleted until the screen shows another one; Shulboard says which screen.
